Which is worse: a bad writer who writes, or a great writer who doesn’t?
I know some people who call themselves aspiring writers. I don’t think that’s a thing. To be a writer, you just have to write. That’s it. There’s no “aspiring” with this. Don’t get me wrong: you can be a bad writer. You can be really awful! But you either write or you don’t. (You know, like Yoda: “Do or do not do; there is no try.”)
I only have a second to write this — I have to pick up my kids from school in a thunderstorm — but, fellow creatives: join me. Be terrible. The only failure is never to start.
